It's fallen off the chart right now and very unlikely to return, but it's still making a strong showing on the Satellite stations and the MTV's, last I checked. Anyone know how many weeks in the top 50 it ended up with, and if its peak officially was #32?
This was 'bubbling under' the top 50 for about 4 months before it got going, making its longevity even more impressive. It was another song that was just 'ok' at first, and then with finally getting to hear it on the radio, it couldn't have rocked harder. I'm also happy for 'em, since they're from Dayton, OH, and I still can't really think of any Ohio bands that have had alternative hits.

Anyone know how many weeks in the top 50 it ended up with? This wasn't in the top 50 Sunday night, right? Assuming it wasn't, it ended up with 18 weeks. I wonder if this has a chance at making the year-end top 100?

I have this peaking at #31. My friend bought the album for dirt, dirt cheap or used or something and gave it to me because he thought I'd enjoy it more than he was. Quite frankly, that was November and I've listened to it twice now. It's too straight, hookless emo for me, like Thursday and Taking Back Sunday, for example. Who knows, maybe these records take time to grow on a guy like me, who's more interested in "emo's" polar extremes: the metal and the pop-punk sides.

The Breeders are from Dayton, OH, and were once relatively successful.
Eh, I still don't like them at all. I wish other formats had less sucky songs so I would be more likely to include it on a Worst Songs of 2005 list. It is going to be in the top-ten Overrated one, though, for me.

The Breeders, eh? Had no idea. Their coolness factor has risen a notch.
As for The Silence In Black And White, I've had it for about 2 months and haven't even played it yet. I'm glad that there's so much extra stuff that comes with their cd (like 8 bonus tracks and a DVD); that seems to be one of the perks for all bands on Victory. But on the other hand, there's so many bonus tracks that now I think it'd take a long time to familiarize myself with it all, especially since "OIFL" didn't click right away. But after reading everything that's in the CD booklet, I feel like I owe it to them to get familiar with the album, since I just get the impression that they're really likeable, down to earth guys that appreciate their fans on a personal level.
