Santogold is so likable to such a wide array of the human population, whether you agree with her musical politics, or have no idea what the heck she may be talking about. It is beyond spectacular to see an artist who is so dead serious about her craft, making such a brilliant, outspoken statement with such a pan-ethnic, pure consciousness. She is the coolest of cool for sure. I knew her day would come and it finally has!

Out of all the songs of which you brought me my awareness, this is the first one that didn't sound exactly the way I expected it to. It's a song I can pull for.

Shhh...Don't tell oscillations., but I actually like this song ["A-Punk"] now. But like I was saying in that topic, I don't see myself liking them any more than I like bands like, say, the Shins or Kings of Leon. I like this too, and the video was fun to watch for a song that's 2 minutes long. But yeah, if you even hint at the possibility of liking any of their music, you'll be bombarded with about 25 other songs that you have to listen to, when you know that none of those 25 songs are gonna sound distinguishable from one another, much less "brilliant". Or even if you say you hate it you'll get 25 songs that are "better".

Zing!
I was at the pool hall, skimming down the jukebox song bank when I saw a selection from Tapes N' Tapes, and I was about to blow a credit on them just to further convince myself how awesome I am for knowing precisely how a band will sound without ever hearing their music. But I never make bad decisions when I'm intoxicated and I ultimately picked "Jesus of Suburbia" and "I Won't See You Tonight Part 1" which was like getting 6 songs for the price of 2.

It's decent. I agree with the Tegan And Sara comparison that friday posted on Pulse. "Walking With A Ghost" was better though, and I'll be mad if this ends up being the much bigger hit of the two.

Honestly, I've been rooting for this and like it more than anything from the Quins. It's more like what I was hoping M.I.A. would be like.

Oh yeah, this beats the s*** out of anything from Tegan & Sara, although the only input that I've appreciated out of anything that the Quins have put out is the song Tegan did with Against Me!.

Mediabase removed it on week 18, when it should've been 47.
I've finally heard her album in my individal listening and it is incredible. Her sandwiched singles have been used on Bud Light Lime commercials which may work against some people, but I tend to really enjoy those, too. Three singles in the top range for me. And as a whole there is a nice diversity and energy in the tracks, making it all the more worthwhile listen.
Four and a half stars, easily one of the best of the year. 01. Say Aha 02. Lights Out 03. L.E.S. Artistes 04. Creator 05. You'll Find a Way 06. Shove It 07. I'm a Lady 08. My Superman 09. You'll Find a Way (Remix) 10. Starstruck 11. Anne 12. Unstoppable

I saw my place of business was serving Bud Light Lime earlier this year and was intrigued.
When my brother was visiting early last summer, I bought a six pack when we were at the grocery store and we split that. I should've just ordered one at a bar sometime. Underwhelming. Then again, I'm not much of a drinker to begin with and never have been. But there's a reason a manager referred to it as the "poor man's Corona" during the staff meeting earlier this month.
Anyway, Santogold.
Yeah, the two or three times I've actually heard "L.E.S. Artistes" were very early on during its chart run and all were my own doing, while tracking down the charting songs I hadn't heard. I wasn't particularly impressed, but that doesn't mean she wouldn't grow on me with repeated and more regular listens. I don't suppose you've got a way to upload the record for me at this point, do you Kirk?

Not at the moment, although that could change. Not sure.
But I remember how about a month or so earlier I bought ($3 used) Res' How I Do (an artist who apparently made an album on Myspace this year, seeking commercial distribution) record with that "They-Say Vision" song, out of curiosity and to hear that song again, partially. I looked in the credits and apparently Santi White wrote all of that album's songs.
That was an interesting bit and kind of made me feel like I subconsciously was doing something for myself.

I vaguely remember reading that earlier this year in either Blender or Rolling Stone, but never would've remembered that if you hadn't said it.
