No clue where this kid came from, but even Aaron Carter sounded further into adolescence during his prime. I think he's associated with Nickelodeon and Usher, somehow. He's from youtube, he started out doing Justin Timberlake covers and then once he did a few other artists...got signed. He's terrible.

Don't hate me...I love this.
I don't know what it is about this song, but it really draws me in.
It's sold over 800K while struggling on CHR/POP after reaching #11 then getting knocked around. It's good vocals and nice pop. I'd take this over katy perry and the other "big" pop crap these days.

Stopped in Target today, but can't afford a $23 album right now. They had mostly 68,000's, 92,000's, and a few in the 70,000's for anyone interested.

I'm behind.
I've been listening to "The Slip" since around july, saw a physical copy in Target, but didn't realize they limited them, I'd have likely bought it. I'll have to see if they still have one.
I really enjoy the album, Echoplex is probably my favorite non-single with Head Down. Discipline is really great.

I'm really surprised 3OH!3 isn't doing better. I really enjoy their album and that song specifically is pretty addicting.

It'll be funny to see how they try to fix this after what they've already gone through with Blake Lewis and Jordin Sparks. I don't understand what you're saying here. Jordin won; she's had 3 hugely successful singles so far. Blake lost; his career's in the toilet. I don't get why you brought last year's Top 2 into your post with regards to the Cook/Archuleta decision. Oh, well certainly they did good in picking Jordin to win, but her album sales are lackluster compared to other Idols, but there are exceptions (taylor hicks), however I suppose they weren't left many options that year with Jordin and Blake. Thing is, Archuleta is obviously going to be the higher seller and it seems like they would want to restore faith in the "Idol Selling Machine" instead of having the runner up outshine the winner, which he's doing times 1000 right now.

Whatever it is, I'm sure I'll hate it. And I do. I really am curious to how many people she blew to get so close to #1 already with a +1100 bullet. It blows my mind that a lot of people may actually LIKE this.

He can't quite top Katy Perry as joke release of the year, but this song is actually so bad that I listen to it for the humor of it.
It's a Chris Cornell reject and they're trying to win over Daughtry fans with him while at the same time claiming he's a totally different artist. He's a poor man's Daughtry, an unfortunate addition to the Hinder/Daughtry/Saving Abel world we live in.
His voice is pretty cool, I'm sure he's a nice guy, but this song is so disposable and so forgettable that it really does make me laugh.
I've been reading his post a pmb and seeing RCA's cheap ploys at making this a illegitimate hit, even how to gift the song is listed on his official site and they're encouraging fans to gift the song to help sales, now THAT is sad.
As far as the song, his vocals are good, too much screamy-I'm-trying-to-be-a-rock-star stuff going on, the lyrics are pathetic and beyond generic, "try to leave the light on when I'm gone, even in the day light, shine on" and overall just embarrassing.
It's to wonder the song only reached #3 on iTunes before dropping like a rock not even a week after it went on there. It's already out of the top 50 and had a negative update on CHR/POP today. Not taking off at any rock formats either.
Major LOL @ American Idol this year. The runner up is top 15 on CHR/POP and hasn't left the top 25 since it was released to iTunes. Obviously the producers picked the wrong one this season. It'll be funny to see how they try to fix this after what they've already gone through with Blake Lewis and Jordin Sparks.

Really addicting. Nice song, not one that we'll be talking about 20 years from now necessarily, but easily one of the best on the chart right now.

I find the song totally pointless, something I'd find disgusting on a filler album and it's the single, so I'd hate to hear an album.

I guess I should also post a clip of Rihanna covering this song during the Glow in the Dark tour. She didn't sing that at my show. I'm sure it's just a nice move to try to sell her a few albums by confusing stupid ppl into thinking Rihanna sings "Paper Planes."

I really hate the rap at the end...It's so much negative to the song.
That said, I like the song a lot - but the vocals are really annoying, lyrics somewhat odd, the all around song is very catchy.

It took this a LONG time to blow up, now it's over +1000 and it seems like it's been going +100 in the bullet each week for 10 weeks...I like it a lot, but prob not my fav.

Doesn't stand out to me, I heard it on the radio today and turned it off after about half. Not nearly as gripping as her previous.

I'm glad it's helping keep katie perry out. It seems to be normal now for 10,000 spins.

When I saw this going up the chart I was more annoyed than curious...I heard it on the radio tonight and I got hooked by the intro beat thinking it would suck when it turned out being a mariah song or some crap. Instead, thankfully, it was this. Very catchy...fair use of Akon, I like Kardinal's style though.

It's one of my favorites on the chart. I easily excuse sampling, this song is fresh.
