Pop[/u] Bruno Mars- Grenade B (Might have been a B+ at an earlier time, but I'm a tad burnt on it, despite not really hearing it that much. I guess it doesn't wear that well with me.) Katy Perry- Firework C- (The positive: reasonably catchy song with a solid pop song structure that I don't mind hearing in a few specific contexts. The negative: the song is too big for Katy Perry, and, outside of said few contexts, her voice can be grating. Versions by more capable vocalists allow this song to lose it minus grade, but no matter who sings it, nothing changes the facts that these are lazy lyrics even by pop radio standards. The bridge is particularly offensive, with random phrases thrown in that don't even rhyme.) Enrique Iglesias f/ Ludacris- Tonight (I'm F**king You) nfe Kesha- We R Who We R B Britney Spears- Hold It Against Me nfe (Listened once and first impression was that it's not as annoying as her worst stuff, but still not great.) Rihanna- What’s My Name B- Chris Brown- Yeah 3x nfe Far East Movement f/ Ryan Tedder- Rocketeer n/a Pink- Raise Your Glass C- Pink- F**kin’ Perfect nfe Taylor Swift- Back to December n/a Pitbull- Hey Baby (Drop it to the Floor) nfe Taio Cruz f/ Travie McCoy- Higher n/a Nelly- Just a Dream B- Diddy-Dirty Money f/ Skylar Grey- Coming Home n/a Usher- More nfe Wiz Khalifa- Black & Yellow B+ Cee Lo Gree- F**k You A Avril Lavigne- What the Hell D+ (Quit with the bratpop and do something good like you're capable of doing, Avril. Catchy works against this song as I've heard it exactly twice and remember how it goes far better than I'd prefer. Lyrics help downgrade this one too.) Edward Maya- Stereo Love A- Black Eyed Peas- The Time (Dirty Bit) C- (It annoys me less than it objectively should, but it's completely unnecessary.) Flo Rida f/ Akon- Who Dat Girl n/a Christina Perri- Jar of Hearts n/a Kesha- Blow n/a Linkin Park- Waiting for the End B (Grade could improve if I listen to it more.) Rihanna- S&M n/a Trey Songz f/ Nicki Minaj- Bottoms Up nfe Waka Flocka Flame- No Hands n/a (But unless it's radically different from his other work, I doubt it'll change my thoughts that he should just go away.) Train- Marry Me n/a Plain White T’s- Rhythm of Love nfe Sick Puppies- Maybe nfe Keri Hilson- Pretty Girl Rock nfe Script- For the First Time nfe (Considering how much I liked their first album, it's surprises me how little I'm drawn to replaying the tracks from the second.) Justin Bieber f/ Jaden Smith- Never Say Never n/a Dev f/ Cataracs- Bass Down Low nfe (I still like "Like a G6", but I don't need a clone, thanks.) David Guetta f/ Rihanna- Who’s that Chick n/a Jessie J f/ B.O.B.- Price Tag n/a Miranda Cosgrove- Dancing Crazy n/a Mann- Buzzin n/a My Chemical Romance- Sing B+ (Room to improve with further listening. Nice rebound after "Na Na Na" was a huge disappointment. I believe someone on Pulse pointed out the similarity already, but this song always leaves me with "Everlasting Love" in my head instead of "Sing" itself.) Nelly f/ Kelly Rowland- Gone n/a Kanye West- All of the Lights nfe (I like it.) Tinie Tempah f/ Eric Turner- Written in the Stars n/a 30 Seconds to Mars- Closer to the Edge nfe Jeremih f/ 50 Cent- Down On Me B+ (Guilty pleasure) Jennifer Lopez f/ Pitbull- On the Floor n/a Black Eyed Peas- Just Can’t Get Enough n/a Rock Mafia- The Big Bang nfe (Haha, when the artist was typed Rockmania, was gonna comment, "never heard of the song or artist," then realized it was just a typo. Listened once and couldn't get into it.) New Boyz f/ The Cataracs & Dev- Back Seat n/a Lifehouse- All In n/a Alternative[/u] Cage the Elephant- Shake Me Down nfe (Have only heard two tracks from the new album, each 2-3 times, but, whereas I vaguely remember how "Aberdeen" goes, I can't remember anything about this one.) Black Keys- Tighten Up B+ Rise Against- Help is on the Way B+ (Room to grow. Not even close to being one of their best singles, but it's still cool.) Mumford & Sons- The Cave A Middle Class Rut- New Low n/a Cake- Sick of You A (I hope the good chart run for this one means "Long Time" will at least perform reasonably well as a followup, since it's currently my favorite on the album.) Florence + The Machine- Dog Days Are Over A- Muse- Undisclosed Desires B+ Young the Giant- My Body B+ Neon Trees- 1983 B Social Distortion- Machine Gun Blues nfe A Day to Remember- All I Want n/a Black Keys- Howlin’ for You nfe Foster the People- Pumped Up Kicks C- (I like the sound of it, but it legit disturbs me in a way few songs do. The only other song I can think of offhand that has a similar effect is Bloodrock's "DOA".) Atomic Tom- Take Me Out nfe Avenged Sevenfold- Welcome to the Family nfe Kings of Leon- Pyro nfe Shinedown- Diamond Eyes (Boom-Lay-Boom) F (I rarely give out Fs, and I usually reserve them for absolute crap, but something about this strikes me as completely calculated, ingenuine, and soulless, so compound that with its general suckiness and there's no redeeming value.) Alter Bridge- Isolation n/a Crystal Castles f/ Robert Smith- Not in Love nfe (I should be in love with this, but I've not bothered to make enough time for it.) Disturbed- The Animal n/a Portugal. The Man- People Say nfe Cold War Kids- Louder than Ever nfe Hollywood Undead- Hear Me Now n/a Airborne Toxic Event- Changing n/a Awolnation- Sail n/a Decemberists- This is Why We Fight nfe Arcade Fire- We Used to Wait nfe Paper Tongues- Get Higher n/a Stone Sour- Hesitate nfe Jimmy Eat World- Coffee and Cigarettes B+ 3 Doors Down- When You’re Young nfe Five Finger Death Punch- Far From Home n/a OK Go- White Knuckles nfe Broken Bells- Ghost Inside A Naked and Famous- Young Blood nfe Hugo- 99 Problems nfe Switchfoot- Bullet Soul n/a Panic at the Disco- The Ballad of Mona Lisa n/a Plan B- Stay Too Long n/a Three Days Grace- Lost in You n/a Papa Roach- Burn n/a Fitz & the Tantrums- MoneyGrabber A- All That Remains- Hold On nfe Sick Puppies- Riptide n/a Skillet- Awake and Alive n/a AC Bruno Mars- Just the Way You Are A- Daughtry- September n/a Script- Breakeven A Train- Hey, Soul Sister C- (It was a D+ at the height of its popularity.) Taylor Swift- Mine nfe Sara Bareilles- King of Anything B+ Michael Buble- Hollywood B Katy Perry- Teenage Dream D+ John Mayer- Half of My Heart B- Maroon 5- Misery A Bon Jovi- What Do You Got C+ (I like it a little, but it sounds like what it is: a single thrown together for a greatest hits record.) Josh Groban- Hidden Away n/a OneRepublic- Secrets A- Neon Trees- Animal A Taio Cruz- Dynamite A- Rihanna- Only Girl (In the World) C- Enrique Iglesias f/ Pitbull- I Like It B+ Seal- Secret n/a Mike Posner- Cooler Than Me D+ Usher f/ Pitbull- DJ Got Us Fallin’ in Love B- Hot AC[/u] Mumford & Sons- Little Lion Man A- Ryan Star- Start a Fire n/a Adele- Rolling in the Deep nfe (Not a fan of hers, but the one time I heard this, it didn't seem to suck as much as most of her stuff, though I can't say I was paying much attention to it.) Sugarland- Stuck Like Glue B Lee Dewyze- Sweet Serendipity n/a Goo Goo Dolls- Notbroken n/a James Blunt- Stay the Night B (It's better than I expected to be after having read multiple "Hey Soul Sister" comparisons, but, if they wanted to lead with an upbeat track, I think "I'll Be Your Man" is superior.) Sara Bareilles- Uncharted nfe Maroon 5- Never Gonna Leave This Bed B+ (Room to grow.) Maroon 5- Give a Little More nfe Andy Grammer- Keep Your Head Up n/a Colbie Caillat- I Do n/a Triple A[/u] Decemberists- Down by the Water nfe Ray Lamontagne & Pariah Dogs- For the Summer nfe Kings of Leon- Radioactive A Amos Lee- Windows Are Rolled Down A Michael Franti & Spearhead- Hey Hey Hey B+ R.E.M.- Mine Smell Like Honey nfe Tired Pony- Dead American Writers nfe Robert Plant- You Can’t Buy My Love B- (An improvement over the lead single, but ultimately another forgettable single.) One Eskimo- Amazing B- Grace Potter & The Nocturnals- Paris (Ooh La La) B Iron and Wine- Tree by the River n/a Arcade Fire- Modern Man nfe Jack Johnson- From the Clouds nfe Elton John/Leon Russell- Hey Ahab n/a Avett Brothers- Kick Drum Heart A Old 97’s- Every Night is Friday Night nfe (Good song. Will probably be one I end up playing for myself if the local station doesn't continue to play it regularly.) Alpha Rev- Phoenix Burn nfe G Love- Fixin’ to Die n/a Sheryl Crow- Long Road Home n/a Rhythmic[/u] n/a or nfe to everything here except: Dr. Dre f/ Snoop Dogg & Akon- Kush B

SMBers: Would you listen to an audio countdown of the year-end chart, or would you prefer a guessing game? I'd be down for either. By the way, what's up with the "Black & Yellow" love? I like the song too; just wondering if there's a story there.

Since SMBers were the main contributors last year, a heads-up: will be doing a '90s companion to my 2000s game from last year in the Pulse personal charts forum. Will likely start it either this evening or some time tomorrow.

Pop[/u] Nelly- Just a Dream nfe Bruno Mars- Just the Way You Are B+ Usher f/ Pitbull- DJ Got Us Fallin' in Love nfe Rihanna- Only Girl (In the World) C- Far East Movement f/ Cataracs & Dev- Like a G6 B Katy Perry- Teenage Dream C- (It's less annoying than most of the singles from album one, but I don't quite enjoy it either. Still, oddly enough, I like the arrangement for this week's Glee episode.) Flo Rida- Club Can't Handle Me B- (Completely disposable, but catchy. Enjoyable in moderation.) Taio Cruz- Dynamite A- (Also disposable, but one of the year's best club songs.) Pink- Raise Your Glass n/a Neon Trees- Animal A Enrique Iglesias f/ Pitbull- I Like It A- (See "Dynamite.") Mike Posner- Please Don't Go nfe Trey Songz f/ Nicki Minaj- Bottoms Up nfe Katy Perry- Firework n/a The Ready Set- Love Like Woe n/a Eminem f/ Rihanna- Love the Way You Lie C- Taylor Swift- Mine n/a Kesha- We R Who We R n/a OneRepublic- Secrets B+ (Pleasantly surprised this has done as well as it has.) Kesha- Take it Off C+ (See "Club Can't Handle Me," but change "in moderation" to "on rare occasions.") Will.I.Am & Nicki Minaj- Check it Out nfe Train- If it's Love nfe Daughtry- September n/a Jesse McCartney- Shake n/a Sara Bareilles- King of Anything A- Usher f/ Jay-Z- Hot Tottie n/a Sean Kingston- Letting Go nfe Maroon 5- Misery A Akon- Angel nfe Rihanna f/ Drake- What's My Name? n/a Jason DeRulo- What If n/a David Guetta f/ Kid Cudi- Memories nfe Bruno Mars- Grenade nfe (Probably should listen to the album again at some point.) Cee Lo Green- F**k You A- Good Charlotte- Like it's Her Birthday n/a Travie McCoy- Need You nfe B.O.B. f/ Rivers Cuomo- Magic A Sick Puppies- Maybe nfe Edward Maya- Stereo Love n/a 3Oh!3- Double Vision nfe Yolanda Be Cool & DCup- We No Speak Americano D+ (The fact that this caught on at all mystifies me. I thought it would be club-only, and even in that setting it doesn't sound good to me.) Willow- Whip My Hair B+ Pitbull- Hey Baby (Drop it to the Floor) nfe Maroon 5- Give a Little More nfe (Another album to which I need to give more time.) Eminem f/ Lil' Wayne- No Love nfe Black Eyed Peas- The Time (The Dirty Bit) n/a Mohombi- Bumpy Ride nfe Chris Brown f/ Tyga & Kevin McCall- Dueces C Natasha Bedingfield- Strip Me n/a
Alternative Black Keys- Tighten Up A- (Thanks to repeated exposure, this grew on me a lot.) Kings of Leon- Radioactive A Linkin Park- Waiting for the End nfe (But I liked it, which is not true of many Linkin Park singles.) Jimmy Eat World- My Best Theory A Anberlin- Impossible nfe Mumford & Sons- Little Lion Man A- (See "Tighten Up.") Muse- Undisclosed Desires B+ Cake- Sick of You A Stone Sour- Say You'll Haunt Me n/a My Chemical Romance- Na Na Na (Na Na Na Na Na Na) D (Huge WTF from MCR.) Dirty Heads f/ Rome- Lay Me Down B+(See "Little Lion Man.") 30 Seconds to Mars- Closer to the Edge nfe Finger Eleven- Living in a Dream nfe (But, yes, I agree with the "Paralyzer" Part Two opinions.) Florence + the Machine- Dog Days are Over nfe (I like it.) Three Days Grace- World So Cold n/a Temper Trap- Fader nfe (My first impression of this was more positive than it was for "Sweet Disposition.") Apocalyptica f/ Gavin Rossdale- End of Me n/a Arcade Fire- Ready to Start nfe Chevelle- Shameful Metaphors n/a A Day to Remember- All I Want n/a Dirty Heads- Stand Tall n/a Papa Roach- Kick in the Teeth n/a 10 Years- Shoot it Out n/a Godsmack- Love-Hate-Sex-Pain n/a Neon Trees- 1983 B+ (Catchy song, but would not have been my choice for next single.) My Darkest Days- Porn Star Dancing F Broken Bells- Ghost Inside B+ (Has room to grow.) Middle Class Rut- New Low n/a Phoenix- Lasso B (See "1983.") Escape the Fate- Issues nfe (But yuck.) Weezer- Memories B (Weird choice for lead single.) Paper Tongues- Get Higher n/a Disturbed- Another Way to Die nfe Avenged Sevenfold- Welcome to the Family nfe Mumford & Sons- The Cave n/a Linkin Park- The Catalyst D (I respect the intent, but I am not a fan of the song.) XX- Crystalised nfe Saving Abel- The Sex is Good n/a New Politics- Dignity n/a Smashing Pumpkins- Freak n/a OK Go- White Knuckles n/a (Do the same few stations spin all their new singles to let them graze the bottom of the chart or something?) A Silent Film- You Will Leave a Mark nfe Jack Johnson- At or With Me B+ Terrible Things- Revolution n/a (Never heard of it or them before this post.) Bullet for My Valentine- Bittersweet Memories n/a Disturbed- The Animal n/a
AC[/u] Script- Breakeven A Train- Hey Soul Sister D+ (Was a C-, but it loses a point for still being horribly overplayed.) Lady Antebellum- Need You Now A- Uncle Kracker- Smile C+ (Nothing wrong with it, but it's completely forgettable.) Daughtry- Life After You nfe Michael Bublé- Hollywood nfe John Mayer- Half of My Heart B- Katy Perry- California Gurls B+ (But seriously? On AC? This high?) Colbie Caillat- I Never Told You n/a Five For Fighting- Slice n/a Lady Gaga- Alejandro B Seal- Secret n/a Lady Antebellum- I Run to You nfe Bon Jovi- What Do You Got nfe Josh Groban- Hidden Away n/a Jim Brickman- Thank You n/a Pink- Glitter in the Air nfe Sheryl Crow- Summer Day B- (I like it, but it's disappointing for a lead single from Sheryl Crow.) Plain White T's- Rhythm of Love nfe Santana f/ India.Arie & Yo-Yo Ma- While My Guitar Gently Weeps B+ (Wasn't sure if this would be cool or a train wreck. Glad it's the former.) Mike Posner- Cooler Than Me D+ La Roux- Bulletproof A Jewel- Satisfied n/a Lifehouse- All In n/a Train- Marry Me n/a Adam Lambert- If I Had You C+ (Somewhere along the way, I developed a minor liking for this.) Michael W. Smith- Take My Breath Away n/a
Hot AC Michael Franti & Spearhead- The Sound of Sunshine A- (It's a "Say Hey" clone, and yet somehow I grade it higher than the B+ I'd give that one. Go figure.) Paramore- The Only Exception B Ryan Star- Start a Fire n/a Switchfoot- Your Love is a Song n/a Carrie Underwood- Undo It D+ (Would have been a C-, but "You stole my happy" automatically downgrades it.) Hedley- Perfect n/a Script- For the First Time nfe Ingrid Michaelson- Parachute n/a B.o.B. f/ Hayley Williams- Airplanes B+
Triple A[/u] Robert Plant- Angel Dance B- (Nice enough, but it does not come close to classic solo Plant.) Ray Lamontagne & Pariah Dogs- Beg Steal of Borrow B- (I liked it more at first, but it burned on me. It's odd; LaMontagne is the kind of artist I should like, but other than "You Are the Best Thing," none of his songs leave any kind of lasting impact.) Shawn Mullins- Light You Up B Avett Brothers- Head Full of Doubt, Road Full of Promise A David Gray- A Moment Changes Everything A- KT Tunstall- Fade Like a Shadow nfe (Sounds good, but for some reason I pay less attention to KT Tunstall with each new album.) Tired Pony- Dead American Writers nfe (Nice song.) Guster- Do You Love Me A Michael Franti & Spearhead- Hey Hey Hey n/a Donavon Frankreiter- Glow n/a John Butler Trio- I'd Do Anything (Soldier's Lament) B- Eric Clapton- Run Back to Your Side B Clapton by the numbers, but that's not a bad thing. Grace Potter & The Nocturnals- Paris B Sheryl Crow- Sign Your Name nfe (It's a surprisingly good version.) One Eskimo- Amazing B+ Doobie Brothers- Nobody (2010) nfe (But this is completely pointless. Why not just play "Nobody" (1971) instead?) Keane- My Shadow nfe (I'm giving "nfe" to too many songs on albums I own.) Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers- High in the Morning A- Elton John & Leon Russell- If it Wasn't for Bad n/a Steven Page- Indecision n/a
Rhythmic All of these are n/a except: Drake f/ T.I. & Swizz Beats- Fancy nfe Miguel- All I Want is You nfe Rick Ross- Aston Martin Music nfe Kanye West f/ Pusha T- Runaway A Jazmine Sillivan- Holding You Down A- Kanye West f/ Jay-Z, Rick Ross, Nick Minaj & Bon Iver- Monster n/a (Also n/a, but just wanted to note I enjoy seeing Bon Iver on rhythmic.) Taio Cruz f/ Kesha- Dirty Picture nfe

And right you were! If any of y'all above still feel the same way about the single and have not already purchased it, I have a few extras. Physical media? (I held off on buying it off that website because it appeared to just be a digital download.) Yes. It's a two-track CD single ("f*** You" and "Georgia") with the same yellow cover on the website.

Probably all of them, especially Alternative. Every format was all over "Crazy" (esp. Alternative at first), and Alt. isn't going to have any qualms playing a song originally called "f*** You". And now that it's been reworked I wouldn't be surprised if it got AAA airplay too. And right you were! So this is part of Billboard's chart preview for the week... I get that the Jack Johnson entry is because AAA is giving his current single good play, but what format that's part of the panel is playing this?

My only (minor) complaint about this song is that he switches off between singing to his ex and his ex's new guy with no transition, so it sounds more like carelessness than design. That said, this isn't the first song with that issue that I've loved, and I can see this getting some significant play from me. As to the "Forget You" version, I'm surprised how well they did it. I agree that the sentiment itself has been neutered (or, at the least, diluted), but I think it's about as much as they could do with a radio edit. It will be interesting to see what radio does with it. I could see it having a Winehouse "Rehab" style chart run where hype and promo get it a reasonable amount of airplay only to hit a wall and crash back down the charts when the hype's worn some and radio decides it doesn't want to play something that sounds like a classic soul track anymore; I could also see it being a huge hit. EDIT: And apparently he's already got the merchandise rolling out... t-shirts specifically for the single.

Heh, I must be the only person that's happy that "Dynamite" is #1 then. I actually like it more than "Break Your Heart". I find it to be the perfect party song. I'm with you. It's not the sort of song I'd want to hear in any context, but it's a great song when out, and, while it's not particularly meaningful, it doesn't stoop to being cringe-worthy.

Sorry, I've been a slacker. 29 is U2's "Magnificent" and 25 is Kanye West's "Heartless."

(Andrew, are you sure she doesn't take her music seriously? With quotes like "I love south. and boys. and boots. and boners." and "I sometimes wish I was a man. I'd have the siickesT trash-stash….", I have no reason to believe otherwise.) Well, I'm not sure, but I think so based partly on what Davey said and partly on the fact that at least a couple of the songs she co-wrote and chose not to record show a side of Ke$ha that has some sort of pop sensibility. I'm gonna put one on our file server, if you're curious; I listened because it was co-written by a guy I respect as a singer-songwriter (Martin Briley of The Salt in My Tears fame) and he sent it and one other Ke$ha outtake to his mailing list. With a capable vocalist and some alterations, it'd be a passable pop song. I think the Ke$ha we know is just how she's presenting herself. Let's face it; she's not a great vocalist and her music, as you pointed out, doesn't really stand out on its own. Much though I dislike her, I do find her fascinating from a marketing standpoint, because somebody realized that pop music didn't have a proudly trashy female and did this imaging beautifully to fill the gap. I don't think it's completely an act, mind you, but I think one aspect of her is being played up considerably.

Probably should've recognized "Lovers in Japan" from the audio, but yes, I struck out again and you were correct to stop waiting for me. Sorry I didn't answer sooner; I'd had a couple I earmarked on first listen for trying again and then never got back. Next round, I'll let you know that I've listened even if I plan on returning again before it ends.

Gonna try this in part to see just how badly out of the loop I am, as I've not been keeping up at all well lately.
Pop Kesha- Tik Tok D- (I've upgraded this from my original F grade for a few reasons. 1) I heard "Blah Blah Blah" and realized it could be even worse. 2) I'm at least fairly convinced even Ke$ha doesn't take her crappy songs seriously. 3) My mother asked me to put this on her iPod, and this makes me laugh. Positive association for this song.) Lady GaGa- Bad Romance B+ David Guetta f/ Akon- Sexy Bitch C+ Iyaz- Replay B- Jay Sean- Do You Remember n/a Boys Like Girls- Two is Better Than One nfe (I think I tried to listen to this twice and turned it off part way through both times, so that doesn't bode well.) Orianthi- According to You B (Despite my initial disappointment due to expectations of this girl, I have to admit that, lyrically, even though the theme has been done to death, the phrasing is clever. Plus, that out-of-place rocking guitar solo in an otherwise very pop song a la "Mad About You" pleases me.) Jay-Z f/ Alicia Keys- Empire State of Mind B Rihanna f/ Jeezy- Hard n/a Lady GaGa f/ Beyonce- Telephone B Black Eyed Peas- Imma Be D- Owl City- Fireflies C- Jason Derulo- Whatcha Say C- Jason Derulo- In My Head n/a Timbaland f/ Justin Timberlake- Carry Out n/a Jay Sean f/ Lil' Wayne- Down B- (generic, but catchy, and I only had to hear it a few times) Kris Allen- Live Like We're Dying B+ (grew on me more than I thought, though I guess it makes sense since I fell for The Script too) Britney Spears- 3 D+ Young Money f/ Lloyd- Bedrock n/a Kelly Clarkson- Already Gone B- Taylor Swift- Fifteen nfe Adam Lambert- Whataya Want From Me C- The Script- Breakeven A Daughtry- Life After You nfe Black Eyed Peas- Meet Me Halfway C- Shinedown- If You Only Knew nfe OneRepublic- All the Right Moves A- Justin Bieber f/ Ludacris- Baby n/a Ludacris- How Low nfe Drake/ Kanye West/Lil' Wayne/Eminem- Forever B Ke$ha f/ 3Oh!3- Blah Blah Blah F Pitbull f/ Akon- Shut it Down nfe Lady Antebellum- Need You Now A- New Boyz f/ Ray-J- Tie Me Down n/a Uncle Kracker- Smile n/a Snoop Dogg- Gangsta Love n/a John Mayer- Heartbreak Warfare n/a Train- Hey Soul Sister D+ Selena Gomez & The Scene- Naturally nfe Nickelback- Never Gonna Be Alone n/a Fray- Syndicate B+ Kings of Leon- Sex On Fire A Cobra Starship- Hot Mess nfe Rob Thomas- Someday B Lifehouse- Halfway Gone nfe Three 6 Mafia f/ Tiesto- Feel It n/a Trey Songz- Say Aah n/a (But I don't see why they didn't try to cross Trey Songz over earlier.) Muse- Uprising A We the Kings- Heaven Can Wait nfe (I don't think I liked it when I listened to it the one time.) Alicia Keys f/ Beyonce- Put it in a Love Song nfe (I don't think I got through the whole thing when I tried listening.)
Alternative 30 Seconds to Mars- Kings & Queens C+ Phoenix- 1901 A- Cage the Elephant- Back Against the Wall B- Rise Against- Savior B (edited in a grade for this as Pandora radio brought it up on my usual Quickmix and I remembered what it was. Decent song, but now I understand why everyone's ready for it to drop; it's not the sort that would wear well with overplay for me, either.) Weezer- (If You're Wondering if I Want You to) I Want You To A Pearl Jam- Just Breathe nfe Flyleaf- Again n/a Three Days Grace- Break C- Alice In Chains- Your Decision B Breaking Benjamin- I Will Not Bow B- Muse- Resistance nfe Them Crooked Vultures- New Fang B+ Switchfoot- Mess of Me n/a Slipknot- Snuff nfe Chevelle- Letter From a Thief n/a Crash Kings- Mountain Man n/a Silversun Pickups- Panic Switch D+ Paramore- Brick by Boring Brick n/a Vampire Weekend- Cousins n/a Paper Tongues- Ride to California B- Metric- Gold Guns Girls n/a Breaking Benjamin- Give Me a Sign n/a Sick Puppies- Odd One n/a AFI- Beautiful Thieves n/a Manchester Orchestra- Shake it Out n/a Death Cab for Cutie- Meet Me On the Equinox B Temper Trap- Sweet Disposition n/a Puddle of Mudd- Spaceship n/a Silversun Pickups- Substitution n/a Gorillaz- Stylo nfe (first impression was positive) Skillet- Monster n/a Green Day- East Jesus Nowhere nfe Foo Fighters- Wheels B+ Mudvayne- Scream with Me n/a Silversun Pickups- The Royal We n/a Weezer- I'm Your Daddy C+ (I think I knock it down a peg because it actually got released as a single.) Violent Soho- Jesus Stole My Girlfriend nfe Phoenix- Lisztomania A Big Pink- Dominos A- Cold War Kids- Audience nfe (I like it) Broken Bells- High Road n/a Spoon- Written in Reverse B+ (Transference is greater than the sum of its parts; all work better in context than out, in my opinion. Good single choices thus far, though.) Five Finger Death Punch- Walk Away n/a Anberlin- True Faith C- Cavo- Crash n/a Passion Pit- Little Secrets nfe Neon Trees- Animal n/a Julian Casablancas- Out of the Blue nfe
AC Taylor Swift- You Belong With Me B+ Michael Buble- Haven't Met You Yet A- Colbie Caillat- Fallin' For You B+ Daughtry- No Surprise C+ Pink- Please Don't Leave Me C- Five For Fighting- Chances n/a Mariah Carey- I Want to Know What Love Is C- Keith Urban- Kiss a Girl B Kings of Leon- Use Somebody A Norah Jones- Chasing Pirates nfe Bon Jovi- We Weren't Born to Follow C- Black Eyed Peas- I Gotta Feeling D Foreigner- When it Comes to Love n/a Brad Paisley- Then nfe Katharine McPhee- Had it All n/a Michael Franti & Spearhead- Say Hey (I Love You) A- Lady GaGa- Paparazzi n/a Alicia Keys- Empire State of Mind n/a Lareau- Don't Let Me Go n/a Jordin Sparks- Battlefield A- Beyonce- Sweet Dreams C+
Hot AC Carrie Underwood- Cowboy Casanova D+ Creed- Rain nfe Parachute- Under Control n/a Barenaked Ladies- You Run Away n/a (I am interested. For a while, a new album from these guys was a definite for me, but Are Me is the last I got around to buying.) Bon Jovi- Superman Tonight n/a Snow Patrol- Just Say Yes A Cascada- Evacuate the Dancefloor B- (grew on me) Vedera- Satisfy n/a
Triple A Dave Matthews Band- You & Me nfe (I like it.) Brandi Carlile- Dreams nfe John Mayer- Who Says nfe One Eskimo- Kandi n/a Avett Brothers- I & Love & You B+ Ingrid Michaelson- Maybe A Melissa Etheridge- Fearless n/a Bob Schneider- 40 Dogs nfe (I heard it twice on radio and remember enjoying it a good deal both times, but I can't recall anything about it at this moment.) Stephen Kellogg & The Sixers- Shady Esperanto and the Young Hearts A Mat Kearney- All I Have nfe David Gray- Stella the Artist A- Kings of Leon- Notion A Jamie Cullum- Wheels nfe Wilco- You and I A- (Feist's harmonies make this.)
