I wanted to preface this with my worst songs and best videos of 2005, but I still haven't finished those lists, so they'll come along either during or after this one.
So 53 weeks, 176 songs this year. I nearly went with a different scoring system this year, but I couldn't really come up with one I thought was appropriate. Plus, I'm a bit of a stickler for consistency. Anyway, this is what it's looked like for the past four-plus years:
inverse points + (10 ∙ weeks on chart) + (inverse peak^1.5)
And I'll note that under this system, this year's #1 received 2,039 points, a 327-point increase from last year. But getting started with the first 10 lyrics:
100) Maybe you'd see the signs Jack Johnson - Sitting, Waiting, Wishing (slinky)
99) No man could test me Gwen Stefani with Eve - Rich Girl (Mega248)
98) I've only got myself to blame The Bravery - Unconditional (crash46)
97) So hard not to cry Snow Patrol - Run (slinky)
96) And saw my world has changed The Offspring - Can't Repeat (mtm4319)
95) It's spring and I should leave Modest Mouse - The World At Large (halo19)
94) And I'll come back soon Blink-182 - Not Now (mtm4319)
93) To make us lose our faith Dave Matthews Band - American Baby (mtm4319)
92) So come sit by the fire Seether - Remedy (halo19)
91) Baby why the wake-up call Unwritten Law - Save Me (a Nick O!)

Wow, I didn't think these would be so hard. And it wasn't like nobody saw them either. I'm gonna wait a little bit before posting more clues.

I can hear a few of them in my head, but can't connect them with an artist/song yet.

I wanna say 98 is "Jesus of Suburbia" by Green Day, but I can't quite place where it is.
91. Definitely "Save Me" by Unwritten Law.
96 looks familiar now too.

100, 92 and 91 are correct.
I'm gonna go ahead with the next set just to keep this moving. I'll wait until tomorrow to post more (non-lyric) clues for the ones remaining because I wanna at least give Steve a chance to get in on the action, since he's been noticeably absent so far.
90) I'm paranoid of all the people Good Charlotte - I Just Wanna Live (slinky)
89) We always tried to share Depeche Mode - Precious (halo19)
88) Kids strung out on homemade speed Death Cab For Cutie - Crooked Teeth (mtm4319)

84) Another hole in the wall Disturbed - Stricken (a Nick O!)
83) You could see me stand Crossfade - Cold (slinky)
82) Oh don't mind me I'm watching Fall Out Boy - Sugar, We're Going Down (mtm4319)
81) I would gladly hit the road Maroon 5 - Sunday Morning (slinky)

I don't have much time to look at all these and think about them, but could at least put #98 to rest: it is "Unconditional" by the Bravery.

I don't have much time to look at all these and think about them, but could at least put #98 to rest: it is "Unconditional" by the Bravery. Huh. I wouldn't have come up with that for a little bit longer.

89. Depeche Mode - "Precious" 81) Maroon 5 - Sunday Morning 82. Fall Out Boy - Sugar, We're Going Down These are right. Haha, I wouldn't make the clues that easy after the first round. But the lyric for 87 does figure prominently in the song, so it shouldn't be that hard, either. Also, Steve and Nick's guesses are correct.

96 and 94 are both from Greatest Hits albums by bands who had a song(s) in my top 20 of last year. 90) I'm paranoid of all the people I meet, Why are they talking to me?88) I braved treacherous streets and kids strung out on homemade speed 87) You would kill for this, just a little bit86) Without you there's no me, you're the air that I breathe, sometimes the world is dark and I just can't see84) Another hole in the wall of my inner defenses83) You could see me stand on my own again, cause now I can see

So, 90, 87, 83, 86, and 96 were guessed correctly. I'll reserve 94 for Matt since he's so close anyway.
