Well, out of 184 songs to hit my chart in 2005, it comes out to 120 songs ending up with at least 100 inverse points. Last year I think there were 118, so it's gonna be roughly the same. Once again, you're on your honor to avoid lyrical search engines. Don't spoil things for other people who might know these. I'll start everything out with lyrics, and if everyone's still stumped, I'll either post more lyrics or add some conceptual hints until it gets guessed. And I don't break ties. Let's quickly update our biggest hits of all time to account for 2005: 1. Incubus - "Drive" (1564 pts) 2. System Of A Down - "Chop Suey!" (1460 pts) 3. Queens Of The Stone Age - "No One Knows (1406 pts) 4. [This year's #1 song] (1400 pts) And the top 120 of 2005 begins here. 120. Tell me your story Elefant - "Misfit" 118a. A confection of venom Beck - "E Pro" [friday]118b. Can't buy back time 117. The easiest things are so hard 115a. Can't sit down and I can't stand up The Music - "Breakin'" [Slinky]115b. Throw a coin in a fountain 114. Hungry night once again Weezer - "Perfect Situation" [mtm4319]113. Do you live, do you die, do you bleed 112. Everything will end up alright Audioslave - "Be Yourself" [halo19]111. I just filled up your tank earlier today 110. But it goes to waste Coldplay - "Fix You" [Mega248]109. I said you knocked it down 108. One of the most significant messages given to us from God The Used - "Take It Away" [halo19]107. I'll burn it down Franz Ferdinand - "This Fire" [friday]106. Gotta be the realest thing 105. You're the reason I sing

115a. The Music - Breakin'? I can't even remember if that was from this year or last.

Both of those are correct, and "Breakin'" had a quick rise in 2004 and a just as quick fall in 2005.

120. Elefant "Misfit" 107. Avenged Sevenfold "Burn It Down" (well that was kind of a gimme...) I can almost hear 105 too.
I was gonna guess "I Won't See You Tonight" by Avenged Sevenfold for 112, but that was kinda last year, and it's "will be alright" anyway...

118a) Beck - E-Pro 107) Franz Ferdinand - This Fire (I'm sure Nick's got this one, but since this jumped immediately to mind for me, it's worth a try.)

According to avengedsevenfold.com, the lyrics to "Burn It Down" go 'I'll burn ya down'. So it's Michael who was right about it being "This Fire" at #107. Sorry Nick. Everything else was right. I'll give Kirk a shot at these, then add a few more hints.

Aw f**k! Color me faced. I should've known you wouldn't have given such an obvious clue, despite me being the only other person that's heard that song, I'm betting. And I fully know the only time M. says the song title is at the very end, but I guess I saw that and at the time, figured "ya" was so easily misheard as "it," being the title of the song and all. I can't believe I got "Misfit" then, and right off the bat, at that. Y'know...considering it took me (I'm guessing) 6 months of hearing it sporadically in order for me to actually remember what the song sounded like while not hearing it.

Since I'm sort of braindead right now, I can't really think of anything. Except "Be Yourself" at #112.

Um, Nick, is it possible that we've both been sleeping on "Take It Away" by the Used? (#108)
One more thing: I would have my current one going right now, but I accidentally left the disk somewhere. I'll just ask the relatives of mine if I could get that sent. I'll try in with a couple other lists.

Um, Nick, is it possible that we've both been sleeping on "Take It Away" by the Used? (#108) Well Jesus Christ, that sure was sneaky of Steve... I had figured the clue was for one of those type monologues, but the only one I could think of was for Chevelle's "Still Running".

It's that time of year again; I won't have a full day off work until February at the earliest. I'll still stick with this countdown till the end; it just may take a little while, that's all. 118b. Falling away, Can't buy back time Avenged Sevenfold - "Burn It Down" 117. I never wonder why, The easiest things are so hard The Bravery - "Unconditional" [friday]115b. Throw a coin in a fountain of dust, white noise Beck - "Girl" [friday] 113. Do you live, do you die, do you bleed. [just thought I'd throw this out there. It's an album track; drop an indicator word and it's a Mariah Carey title.] 30 Seconds To Mars - "The Fantasy" 111. Drive yourself insane tonight; it's not that far away, and I just filled up your tank earlier today Alkaline Trio - "Mercy Me" 109. You don't seem to come around, not since I said you knocked it down The White Stripes - "My Doorbell" 106. Gotta be the realest thing. [Only song of its type to even make the top 46 this year.]Ashanti - "Only U" [halo19] 105. Can you hear me when I sing, You're the reason I sing U2 - "Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own" [halo19]

111 is "Mercy Me" by Alkaline Trio. 109. White Stripes "My Doorbell" ? (Shot in the dark. Kirk obviously knows this one better than me, so I'm guessing I'm wrong.)
Oh, and I just now got 113 with lyrics alone. It's funny, I read your Mariah Carey clue, but didn't think of this. I think I may have skimmed the album for my own "album chart" placement recently, and after double-checking this set one last time, I heard it as I re-read the words: 30 Seconds to Mars "The Fantasy"
And another thing: You're killin' me, Steve! 118b is "Burn It Down" by Avenged Sevenfold! And it's funny, 'cuz until you put up "Falling away," the only melody that was coming to mind was Avenged Sevenfold's "Radiant Eclipse," which is obviously wrong, because it's "can't bring back time." A one-word difference, not unlike the one that made me incorrectly guess "Burn It Down" the first time!

Frankly, I'm not sure I even heard "Slow Hands" in 2005. Definitely not since February or March. "We spies, we slow hands" is probably all I'd still recognize from it.
