Why won't "Irreplaceable" fall faster?! I assume Justin will have the next #1 after Nelly gets in at least a couple weeks. That seems about right. I'm actually surprised Paula Deanda is still bulleted within the Top 5. Yeah, it's a decent tune after all, but it doesn't sound worth a Top 5 to me. A peak of #8 or 9 would have been more appropriate.
No way does Daughtry deserve a #1 straight out of the box like this. Not with this tune. And it looks inevitable. Surprised by how Eurodance-sounding that Rihanna/Sean Paul duet ended up being. I'm actually surprised "It Ends Tonight" isn't another Top 5 smash for AAR. It sure sounds better than 95% of the junk on the Pop chart. And it's already in the Top 10 after all...
I just cannot fathom that "The Black Parade" is waiting outside the Top 10, geared up to storm the Top 5. It kinda drags up emotions along the sensitive (and somewhat selfish) nature of "band ownership," a recent discussion over at Pulse, in which I chose not to get too involved. I dunno, it just doesn't seem fair that it's impossible for the Pop format, especially, to separate music with more emotional depth and resonance from all the rest of the vacuous fame-vehicle horses*** that wastes space.
Since I haven't even heard the Hellogoodbye song since September, when my FYE still played those in-store discs, it blows my mind that it's #21 (with a strong bullet!) on Pop radio. Hell, it wasn't even being pushed to Pop radio back in September. Still haven't heard that new Nickelback tune. I'm aware of the new recurrent rules finally, but it just feels like "Money Maker" should've been gone the week it fell below #20. Still haven't heard that GCH song since it was re-released. (I only saw the video twice on Fuse early last year.)
That Timbaland all-star song sure appeared out of nowhere. I assume I'll be infatuated with it once I hear it, with the roll that that man's on...
Can't remember the Jim Jones song just yet. Didn't get to hear that PCD song enough, but it didn't seem like it was horrible or anything. I can't believe "Boston" is ascending the Pop chart a full year after it was released. I particularly don't find it to be anything special, which I guess explains why it's been such a slow burning hit for them: it's not sledgehammer undeniable.
I figured Ciara would cruise into the Top 20. It's not that great of a song for her, but it's one of the better Pop tunes of the moment. That Lloyd song (but especially Lil Wayne, generally speaking) can go to hell. How can such a lowlife, f***ing moron like Lil Wayne grow to be so skillful at rapping? And he's everywhere. He doesn't turn guest spots down and he keeps his price lower than what he could be charging people.
Finally Cartel begins to plummet. God, I really hope the new Akon single has more redeeming value. I can't take a third one of those. From what I could gather of that Hinder song when they played it, lyrically it seemed pretty decent. Maybe they do have material that isn't just atrocious.
Screw Katharine McPhee. I haven't heard the song yet, but I just don't like the vibe I've gotten from her so far. You lost! Leave us alone. Look at "Rockstar." Still hangin' around...
And finally: Damn. After being a Hot AC dinosaur for the better part of last year, Mat Kearney hits the Pop chart and so I'm finally gonna have to acknowledge that guy's/song's existence. This always happens. Daniel Powter comes to mind. That song didn't turn out to be too bad, though...

Good to see "Say it Right" at #1, even though the far inferior "Promiscuous" will almost certainly be more remembered 5 years down the road. "Sweet Escape" is currently my second favorite solo Gwen single (not that the competition is very fierce), so nice to see that doing well too.
That Daughtry song is so f***ing bland.
"It Ends Tonight" doesn't deserve to be done already.
"Fergalicious" is going in the right direction.
How is Lumidee getting another hit.
I may have been about six months late on "Boston", but pop radio still managed to be even later than me.
"Better Than Me" is easily superior to the previous two Hinder songs, but the singer's voice (I don't care enough to look up his name) is still irritating in the chorus.
Why is "Say Goodbye" having so much longevity.
I heard "U + Ur Hand" for the first time in the car yesterday. It ranks right up (down) there with all her other singles.
I'm liking the new Relient K. Hopefully it picks up.
What is "Rockstar" doing on the pop chart at all, let alone still.
Haven't heard 21, 25, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 40, 41, 43, 46 and 48.

By the way, I finally heard "Black Parade" on my former mid-Missouri pop station, and it sounds like Pop radio dials the guitars way down in the mix. It's so odd...and completely lame.
And while we're at it, I'm positive Pop radio sped up "What You Know" by T.I. slightly. I just heard that one again on Pop radio too this past week, so that's why it's fresh on the mind.

*wince* s***, I dunno man...
Does it have an AllAccess stream for the Pop format? I don't even know how to find those things. I just take for granted that people supply them.

I was thinking Promo Only, but I thought the radio edit would be less than 4 and a half minutes long.

Now for my other comments...
Is Akon really doing that much for "The Sweet Escape"? I can't think of any other explanation for why this is in the top 10 after "Wind It Up" pulled a "Hung Up".
MCR is now -422, so it's done. But it made the top 10, which is something I thought Fall Out Boy would have done (#14 and only +51).
Gym Class Heroes are #19 and +737... it's a decent song, but damn that Britnasty.
I was really disappointed with "Give It to Me" on first listen. The prevailing thought I had was "boring!".
Two songs on the urban side that are surprisingly tolerable: "She's Like the Wind" and "Ice Box". Needless to say, "Ice Box" is the first Omarion song I haven't disliked... and also needless to say, that's probably due to Timbaland.
I see the payola for "U + Ur Hand" finally kicked in.
Someone mentioned this earlier, but what's the new recurrent rule?

I see that due to "renewed interest" that "The Kill" has an adds date again. *sighs*

I was thinking Promo Only, but I thought the radio edit would be less than 4 and a half minutes long. The version on Promo Only is the same one as they sent to Alternative radio, which is just the radio edit with the second time the intro is sung (screamingly) cut out.
As much as I like the Neptunes, I thought "Wind It Up" was a pretty disappointing track and that I have to say I like "The Sweet Escape" much, much more.
The pop station here plays "She's Like The Wind" with Lumidee's rap all edited out, lol.

My explanation is some (only some) payola. Gym Class Heroes are #19 and +737... it's a decent song, but damn that Britnasty. I think it's hilarious that at least 3 of you guys now have either direct quotes or reference quotes from Pulse about him for your signatures. Needless to say, "Ice Box" is the first Omarion song I haven't disliked... and also needless to say, that's probably due to Timbaland. Ha ha. I concur. Only replace "probably" with "entirely." Someone mentioned this earlier, but what's the new recurrent rule? As far as I know, it's 20 weeks within the Top 40, now, and below #20. The pop station here plays "She's Like The Wind" with Lumidee's rap all edited out, lol. I've only heard it a couple of times so far, so when the girl came on rapping, I was like, "Wait, who's this? Well she's the only girl here, so it must be Lumidee." For all I knew Lumidee just sang 4 different notes and said "uh oh" a couple of times.

My explanation is some (only some) payola. That or the promo CDs they sent out consistently cross out Gwen's name with a sharpie. lol, I love it. Mine sounds way more snooty than the person was probably originally intending, but it's so true.

Wow, "Arms Race" is already losing spins.
I'll agree now with Matt about Pink getting payola'ed.
As hot as "We Fly High" seems to be, I'm surprised to see it falling already. I thought it was surely headed for the Top 20.
I see "LAX" is now "LAX Gurlz." O-kay...
There was a line in "Candyman" I can't remember that I was shocked she threw in there. It sounded horrendously out of place for the throwback style of the song.
And why the hell is "Walk It Out" back on the chart? Who likes that bulls***?

I see "LAX" is now "LAX Gurlz." O- kay... Yeah, what's up with that. Looks like it's supposed to say "Laxative Gurlz".

And why the hell is "Walk It Out" back on the chart? Who likes that bulls***? What I'd like to know is why/how a song with 376 spins is in the top 50.

Thank you pop radio for now getting rid of that horrid Japanese anime crap better known as Here (In Your Arms). That song is so irritating to hear. And this is the 2007 dance song pop radio decided to put its spins behind? Walk It Out needs to run into the negative spin gains. And can you believe this is its 9th week in the top 50? Most creative lyric of the week: "I'm hot cuz I'm fly. You ain't cuz you're not. This is why... this is why.. this is why I'm hot." - Mims

And why the hell is "Walk It Out" back on the chart? Who likes that bulls***? Heh. I admit, I hate the original, but the remix with OutKast (and Jim Jones, ugh) is pretty hot.

Well, the OutKast verses are, at least. But (I mentioned this at Pulse) what I don't get is why OutKast are even on there. Andre poignantly raps about men who wear oversized t-shirts that look like "nightgowns" and how they need to go get "2 size down."
But from what I remember from the original video (does the remix have one?), there were a bunch of skinny guys dancing around like idiots in huge brightly colored t-shirts.

Oh. He must be gay then. (Geez, this is like Christinasnumerounofan all over again. I just assumed for the longest time that guy was an obnoxious chick.) .... nu for y'all. I've been dating someone for 5 months. And I'm Bi. I'll take either or I ain't picky lmao

Didn't christinasnumerounofan claim to be bisexual at first too?

I forget... but if I had to guess, I would say no.

"...he makes my cherry pop..." "...he makes my panties drop..." or "...he's got a big (moan)..."?

So is it...
"...he makes my cherry pop..." "...he makes my panties drop..." or "...he's got a big (moan)..."? It was definitely the last one I was thinking of, but now that I see those other two, the second one sounds a little too slutty, as well.
