I voted for Facebook, easily. I was already becoming increasingly annoyed at myspace, but the album they're putting out makes things ten times worse. For those who don't know, anyone who purchases a copy of the myspace album, an album with 17 songs that Tom, founder of the site, chose, gets 4 new pictures for their account, for a total of 16 (as opposed to the unlimited number offered at Facebook). What a ridiculous way to milk the success of myspace and to earn a ton of undeserved cash. Hopefully the number of 15-year olds who fall for this bulls*** won't be too outlandish.

I never really got much into myspace. I haven't tried Facebook, so I wouldn't know on that one. So I just didn't vote. I always just saw MS as a way of killing time.
Yeah, I think the upload on images should be unlimited.
LOL, if you want something way worse than myspace, try Tagged.

Facebook, just 'coz it seems like everyone should have one and it's the smart schools that made it famous. Myspace got made famous by the high school Britney Spears wannabes. That being said, I have both

I only have Facebook, so by default I choose that.
I also use Friendster and Hi5. And by using, I mean signing-up, filling out a profile, add a bunch of friends, and haven't logged back on much since.

Neither. I'm not internet-savvy enough to create one and I don't need any more ways to "waste" my time online.

Every band's got a Myspace page, and that alone gives them the edge, because a lot of bands stream their albums on those pages before they're released, or put up unreleased tracks exclusive to those pages. I'm not voting for them though, because that alone isn't enough to make me stop hating Myspace.
What piss's me off are the people that use the terms "Myspace" and "Facebook" as verbs. I'm starting to hear that more and more. For instance, I was reading my school's newspaper (to kill time, of course), and there was a question for students: "What do you do with your spare time between classes?". And they printed 5 responses. One whore simply said "I Facebook.". What the hell is that. I'm like "Ok, you just set the English language back 1000 years".

Facebook obviously has a much higher intelligence level due to their higher median age (although I wouldn't place any bets on the high school version of Facebook).

I've been informed that Myspace apparently has a higher level of customization than Facebook. Is this accurate?
I saw that Myspace album at Best Buy tonight. I won't buy it because it'd violate my own principles, although as just a compilation/mix cd, I'd probably enjoy it.

I've been informed that Myspace apparently has a higher level of customization than Facebook. Is this accurate? Yes, that's true. Most people take it way too far though. If you click on five random Myspace profiles, you'll probably see enough brightly clashing colors and animated cursors to never want to return. This is a good overview of Myspace: www.encyclopediadramatica.com/index.php/Myspace

I'm afraid to go on people's myspace pages. They have all these codes that let them play music, videos, and install those animated cursors, and I figure some kid could just as well create a code that'll hang some regenerating viruses all over my hard drive and its files. I've been using this computer to go online for a month and a week, and I just ran a virus scan that detected zero harmful files, and I want to keep it that way.

In fact, the Google search keywords I used to find that page about myspace were "install", "malware", and "profile". (The full sentence: "Myspace is the only social networking site that lets users install malware on visiting machines just by viewing a profile.")

Five months later, I have to admit that I'm on Myspace about 10 times more often than I'm on facebook.

Admittedly, it's probably something I'd get involved with if it were around 5 years ago. You can act like you're a band and use your page to stream songs that you like... . It's just a learning curve that I'm unwilling to get involved in, and being a sketchy community overall doesn't help. There was a youtube video I watched called "Myspace: The Movie", a Myspace parody which I understood well enough to laugh several times. And all's I have is a page I created which used up about 8 minutes of my life that essentially has nothing on it.

And all's I have is a page I created which used up about 8 minutes of my life that essentially has nothing on it. LOL, I saw that a few months ago. Some people take that website way too seriously. There is now "Facebook Mobile" which allows users to operate their Facebook accounts from their cell phones. Also, a "status" feature was just added that allows users to let their friends know where they are and what they're doing at any given time. A few of my friends have literally been updating their Facebook status every 1-2 hours today. It's too bad because one of the things that made Facebook better than Myspace was the lack of pointless, tacky features like these.

Yeah, I started a page a couple months ago, but I realized I really have no need to use it. And if I want to start a blog, well, I prefer Blogspot, with which I intend to start a blog on sometime within the next decade. And the only friends I have on there right now are a local band from my town that I've never heard of, a member from Pulse, Straylight Run, and ex-KNDD DJ Jennifer White.
Plus, I recently got an obvious spam that from a person named Anita that reads like this:
"My HoMe*Page" links to ezezdates.info, which I want to click about as much as I want a lobotomy. So, needless to say, I'm not entirely overzealous about the whole myspace thing.

My first, first reaction to the Facebook changes was that they were pretty cool. I didn't really mind the fact that people would see all my profile edits because I rarely make that many changes to it. But I'm against it now because the opinion on this has to be at least 97% negative. No matter how interesting all this info is, it's going to result in a ton of people leaving the site if they don't quickly either (a) get rid of it or (b) make it easy for people to hide the availability of info changes. (It sort of is already -- just go to your profile page and click the "X"s beside each item in your mini feed -- but it's not apparent unless you happen to click there.)
I now don't understand how something like this could even get the final green-light. Did they do any beta tests or surveys of Facebook users?

Okay, I didn't really have a problem with the news feeds except that everyone else seemed to hate it... but this is flat out stupid. I won't delete my account if this is instituted, but I'm guessing a lot of people will. The message on the front page of Facebook right now states, in part: So what's the problem?

Yeah, that'll bring Facebook down another big step in my book if they end up opening it up to anyone. They might as well call themselves MySpace if they're going to do that.
From what I've heard, the major reasoning behind this is money issues. Mark Zuckerberg, the guy who created the site, is apparently hoping to sell Facebook to a big-name company for two billion dollars in the near future. As of a while ago, he had yet to recieve an offer anywhere close to that total, so he's been slowly trying to up the value of Facebook. Since opening the site to everyone will inevitably bring in a slew of new members, he figures he'll be able to sell it for a greater price. And as is frequently the case once a popular network becomes "all about the money", I'm only expecting things to detiriorate from here on out.

Ok, is it just me or are the times listed on the news feed not even accurate half the time? And sometimes it'll be like "Carolyn added [insert name of movie] to her favorite movies at 5:15 PM", only to inform me of the same action again the next day, but now with an inaccurate time. If they insist on keeping this useless feature around, the least they could do is try and work out all the bugs.

Yeah, there seems to be a 6-8 hour delay most times (although in some instances, wall posts show up on the news feed a day or two after the post is actually made).

I gave the edge to facebook especially with myspace's recent woes to spammers. You'd think by now they'd have it controlled, but it only seems to be getting worse. Myspace are trying to implement changes to their images by making albums and having an "almost unlimited" upload system, but so far they're not looking good.
I like the facebook system in general. Networks and being more targeted to college age people. A lot of my friends in college have just facebook or facebook AND myspace, a lot of them don't just have myspaces. I like my myspace page to be pretty organized and orderly. I hate when my page gets stretched by anything. I think the facebook layout is pretty good as it shows your interests and all, but you don't have to wait for a big red flashing heart or anything like that to load.
The whole facebook systems owns myspace times ten.
