Mediabase Top Alternative Songs of 2000-2008 (A's)

So I saved the year-end top 1000 currents/recurrents plus the top 1000 golds for each year between 1999 and 2008 (plus the year-to-date as of 11/11/09), but I'm interested in seeing what the top songs of the 2000s will be. I have to go through a manual process to combine the spin counts for each year a song was on either chart, but I made it through the "A"s and I thought it'd be cool to see what the top songs by "A" artists were. Remember, this doesn't include any of 2009 yet...

So, as I keep going through this list, I'm realizing that it's going to take me a long time to do what I want. I don't mind doing this, as I'm quite interested in seeing the finished product. And I'm sure you guys are too. I'm aware that I won't be doing this for just myself, so I'm interested in seeing what you guys would want to see.

I basically have two options:

(1) Compile the spin counts, as I've been doing, for 2000-2008 (which would give an accurate and definitive count of those 9 years), then hope that I still have Mediabase access at the end of 2009, add the final 2009 spin counts to my totals, and arrive at an accurate and definitive count of the whole decade. There is a risk, though: if I lose access before then, I won't be able to complete the list I'd been attempting to complete.

(2) Use what I have now for the year-to-date 2009 spins (as of November 15th) and compile a list for January 1, 2000 through November 15, 2009 and use that list as representative of the entire decade. The upside to this is that I can compile it now and not have to wait another month and a half, but if you guys would rather hope our access lasts until the end of December, I can wait. The central question with this option is if you guys would consider 9 years and 10 1/2 months of data to be good enough.

Well, I'm fine with either option, really, leaning more towards the second one.

I guess I'm not fully understanding this process or how tedious it will be. So, say you go with option 2. Mediabase access permitting then, in order to have a full 10 years, you'd have to track the spins for these songs each week for the rest of the year and continuously update them all over again, hoping access doesn't get shut down?

Yeah, I couldn't really grasp why November 15th mandatorily had to be the cutoff date for option 2 rather than just a temporary checkpoint. Unless it just takes too much work to create subsequent checkpoints.

But yeah, this is good stuff. Just the list of A's by itself was fascinating enough.

I had initially typed up a post of "whichever suits you best," but when I realized that I, as the others have already said, didn't quite understand what the difference in potential workload would be, simply refrained from responding.
