She's topped the Urban chart and Billboard's R&B singles chart with the track. I like the dance routine in the video of this song. She is in Sasha Fierce mode, her alter ego. (Did she borrow that glove from MJ?) The track is quite catchy and enjoyable. www.youtube.com/watch?v=8mVEGfH4s5g

I mentioned in the "If I Were a Boy" topic that I didn't remember liking this.
I heard it again the other day and, yeah, I don't care for it. It's too bouncy and the looped synth swipe is monotonous. At least the similiar sound effect in Jay-Z's "Money, Cash, Hoes" consisted of a couple more notes before looping.

I like it, but the alter-ego thing is stupid. I thought it was a joke, but unfortunately it wasn't...

I like it, but the alter-ego thing is stupid. I thought it was a joke, but unfortunately it wasn't... I don't think the character is being used well. I believe her fans are captivated by Beyonce the phenomenal singer and performer not some fictitious person. She is trying too hard to please and needs to leave the acting roles to films. Besides, I heard that her role as Etta James in Cadillac Records was quite good.

The alter-ego thing is stupid. As it is for most artists...And "Sasha Fierce" is such a stupid name. Especially since that assclown from Project Runway, or whatever that show was/is, kind of tainted that word a year or two ago, or whenever that was.

...To Rolling Stone, but calling this the #1 single of the year is just plain wrong. Main reason I tolerate it is because of the SNL thing. "L.E.S. Artistes" running up at #2 has nothing to do with that.
