R.E.M. (f/ Patti Smith) - "E-Bow the Letter"

I've been liking this one quite a bit lately. Interesting pick for a lead single, but R.E.M. are not always straightforward anyway. The chorus is probably the nicest thing in the song. I don't play New Adventures a lot but I love it. I could say the same about a few other albums by the same artist.

The lyric "Will you live to be 83?" reminds me of the fact that my grandma is alive & well and just turned that age.

Oh f***in' A, I love this song.

When I was a teenager, I'd stay up late and pick out songs I wanted to hear and just go through all of the CDs, lying on my floor with my headphones plugged into my stereo, so I wouldn't wake my parents in the room below mine.

This song and "Leave" (and sometimes "Bittersweet Me" and an occasional other album track or two) made the cut more often than not, as this is what I associate first with those two songs.
