"Don't Think I Don't Think About It" is the full title.
Seriously, this was #1 in Country? The Country Chart sure knows its narcotology.
I've never heard this and I only posted it because I was tired of seeing the latest post on this board be a Jessica Simpson song, but I really would like to know how this happened.
I wonder if it's as unintentionally hilarious as Cowboy Troy! (doubtful...)

Haven't heard this either. When's the last time a black guy was #1 on the Country chart? Would we have to go all the way back to Charley Pride? Surely that guy must've had some #1's... [consults Wikipedia] Uh yeah. 36 of them. Seriously, who would've ever thought Hootie, by himself, would ever have a #1 song on the Country chart? (And I don't know what narcotology means.
"Frankly, it sounds made up."[/Kramer])

I remember reading in the AT20 thread on Pulse someone noted Casey said Rucker was the third African-American ever to hit #1 on the country chart. Assuming he meant albums, then the third apparently, besides Pride, was Ray Charles.

I actually gave this a listen a month or two ago just out of curiosity. Wasn't bad at all, but I've long forgotten what it sounds like.

I think it's surprisingly good. I think Darius sounds much more tuneful now than in the Hootie heyday... I didn't know it was his song but my work frequently is on the country station and I heard the DJ announce it.

Assuming he meant albums, then the third apparently, besides Pride, was Ray Charles. I believe he meant singles, but the third is still Ray Charles in '85. This is one of the ever-shrinking number of current country songs that I've gotten into this year. Strong tune.
