But "Policy of Truth" is one of the most underrated songs ever from the 90's. Wow, really? I guess I think it's kind of a stretch (though I love POT), as success-wise it did really well and seems to have an alright regard. Although I guess we'll always have more covers of "Personal Jesus" and "Enjoy the Silence" (and from heavier rock bands!) to outshine it.

And there you have it. "Mysterious Ways" is the winner! I think so, anyway; I meant in the long run. It just seems like "Personal Jesus," "Enjoy the Silence" and "People are People", and maybe "Just Can't Get Enough" will go down as their defining songs for them, while "Policy of Truth" might be on the bubble. That's not to say that some of their songs aren't more underrated, however. (A good deal of their 80's singles can fall into that mix.)

Cool, cool. Both decades have choices I'm totally alright with.
I think sometimes when you're as established as DM, you'll have some songs naturally overshadowed by the classics. My A range list of their singles actually includes all ten from the aughties and most of their stuff really.
A+ singles I have ranked from them: 1. Enjoy the Silence 2. Personal Jesus 3. It's No Good 4. Precious 5. Everything Counts (Live) 6. Stripped 7. Master and Servant 8. I Feel You 9. Goodnight Lovers
The stuff below the A range is mostly the lesser stuff from '81-82; it's uphill from there.

I'm bringing this back from the dead, because this has been bothering me. I didn't know at the time that I nominated what is arguably the most overplayed rock song ever. Heck, I've never even heard it on my station. Of course, it probably didn't have nearly as much of an impact here anyway.

I'll never listen to it on the radio ever again whenever it comes on, but it's far from being one of the most noticeable offenders.

I don't understand. If you've never heard it on your station, why do you feel it is so overplayed? It's #10 on the Alt gold chart, #1 on the Active gold chart, and #4 on the Rock gold chart. That's pretty overplayed.
